Knocking on New Opportunities with Xfinity

“Nobody knocks on the front door anymore,” says every parent whose teenager is getting picked up by a friend. While their teen runs off, an ironic knock on the door echoes into the parent’s ear. At the door, stands a person in Xfinity garb and with a pleasant smile (under their mask) on their face.

Comcast’s Xfinity Sales Professionals (XSP) make it a priority to go door-to-door conversing with new people, learning about the community, meeting friendly pets and closing sales. Unlike traditional marketing tools such as mailers or radio ads, XSPs have the opportunity to interact with potential customers face-to-face and connect with them on a more personal level.

Stacey Perez, a seven-year XSP leader, knows the value and importance of being able to help a current or potential customer in person. “While hearing the word no is not absent from this line of work. Being able to connect on a personal level with individuals and families to better understand their needs is immensely gratifying. Hearing a thank you and that everything went smoothly at the end of the day is the most rewarding part of our job.”

The opportunity to grow — whether personally or professionally — is also limitless here at Comcast. Just ask Jimmy Smith, who started as a contractor and is now a Xfinity Sales Executive. Jimmy credits his success at Comcast to his time as an XSP, which provided him with the opportunity to get out of his comfort zone and thrive. “Growing up as an introvert, I had no intention of getting into a job that required me to knock on doors and interact with people face-to-face. Once I started doing it as an XSP at Comcast, it really helped me grow as an individual.” Now as a people leader, he enjoys being out alongside his team and leading the pack by example.

Comcast is looking for talented, highly motivated individuals to join the ranks of employees like Stacey, Jimmy and the countless others. Stacey wants you to know that “at Comcast we’re like a family, and as such, we take care of and spoil our own.”
