Diverse Oakland Businesses, It’s Your Last Chance to Get $10,000

This week is the last week businesses in Oakland can apply for the Comcast RISE Investment Fund. The Investment Fund is providing 100 businesses owned by people of color, including African American, Indigenous, Hispanic and Asian American, with a $10,000 monetary grant. The application for the program opened on October 1st and closes this Thursday, October 14th. Businesses are eligible to apply if they have: 

  • Established business operations for 3 or more years 
  • 25 or less full-time and part-time employees 
  • At least 51% owned and operated by racially or ethnically diverse individual; including owners of Hispanic, Black, Indigenous, Asian or mixed background and people of color, among others.

Over 200 businesses in California have already benefited from Comcast RISE since its inception in 2020. Businesses have received advertising and marketing consultations, TV media scheduling, turnkey production of a TV commercial and technology makeovers. Tamika, owner of Cuticles Nail Spa and Clara and Kevin Grant owners of Tuani Lash Studio & Academy, are two Oakland business owners that have seen how Comcast RISE can elevate their business.
