Sacramento Hit Hard Saturday Night – Restoration Efforts Continue

Thousands of Comcast’s customers are currently experiencing power outages, especially in Sacramento, where a powerful storm with winds that reached 60 mph Saturday night left thousands without electricity.

As of 4:00 PM Sunday, the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) reported 63,000 customers affected by the outages, while PG&E reported 83,000.

Comcast’s network requires commercial power to operate. Our teams are aware of these massive outages and are working with the commercial power providers to assess lines and equipment once power has been restored.

Our Comcast Network Impact Map shows where customers without service are currently located. For our crews to make the necessary repairs to restore service, they must first have access to the area. This issue is currently a problem given that some roads, especially in remote areas, remain closed due to fallen trees and debris.

Once power is restored, our teams will receive the green light to look for damaged lines and downed poles. For example, our crews are physically inspecting equipment and services in areas where power has been restored in the North and East Bay.

We understand these power and services outages are a painful inconvenience and want to assure you that our teams are committed to restoring your services as quickly and safely as possible.
