California, It’s Time… Introducing Sofa Sunday

The days following Thanksgiving are now well known and deeply ingrained in our culture. Black Friday, with its midnight sales, “doorbusters” and shopping frenzy, is one of the main attractions. Small Business Saturday, started by American Express in 2010, is a “shop small” and buy local movement that now has great momentum. Cyber Monday, coined in 2005 and one of the largest online shopping days of the year, is also a mainstay. The newest entrant, Giving Tuesday, started in 2012 and was created by the 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation as a global movement to balance out the “giving vs. getting” dynamics of the season.

And while those six days are jam-packed with eating, drinking, malls, shopping, sales, philanthropy, and donations – not to mention planes, trains and automobiles – there is still something missing.

What happens on Sunday?

If you’re like us, you are ready for more of, well, absolutely nothing. More to the point, you’re eager to pull on your comfies, grab some snacks and collapse in a heap on the sofa in front of the TV – with laptop, tablet or phone in hand — and binge to your heart’s content with family, friends or perhaps even all alone (ah!).

Here’s why.

Whether it’s during the holidays or not, as a culture, we’ve been blasted with do more, be more, get more, work more, make more. From turning crafting into an obsession where a Pintervention is a thing, to posting every photogenic moment of your life, to “artisan” everything. Is it just us, or does it seem like there’s more to do every week and less time to do it?  Not to mention by the time Saturday rolls around – especially during the holidays – you’ve piled up a list of to-do’s and errands a mile long. The week is hard, work is endless, often times you barely glimpse your friends and family. How can you be ready to even face Monday?

We say ENOUGH. You need balance. You need a little YOU time. So Xfinity just made the art of doing less, well — more. With Xfinity X1 you’ll enjoy everything that you know and love – movies, TV, sports – including an incredible Netflix, YouTube and Sling experience right within the X1 platform. And could there be anything simpler, faster and easier than our award-winning voice remote?  We don’t think so!   Especially since it understands English and Spanish. ¡Muy Bueno!

We bring you all the innovative technology you need to make your downtime awesome. So you can go ahead and sit, surf, slouch and slack like there’s no tomorrow.
