Internet Essentials Expands Eligibility to Even More Households in California
Since its launch in 2011, Comcast’s Internet Essentials has helped close the digital divide by connecting millions of Americans to affordable, fast, reliable, and secure Internet at home. Today we are announcing an expansion of Internet Essentials that will allow millions of American families to qualify for Internet Essentials based on their household income.
Internet Essentials applicants can now choose to qualify based on income or participation in a federal benefits program, whichever is more convenient for them. This means that households earning 200% below the federal poverty level – or a family of four earning less than $64,300 – can now qualify for Internet Essentials.
These individuals will join millions of other customers in gaining access to a reliable Internet connection for school, work, or healthcare; who can stream in 4K, video chat with family and friends, and reap the benefits of the digital economy.
Available for just $14.95 per month, Internet Essentials remains the industry’s leading low-cost broadband product because it offers incredible value and support. Customers receive the Xfinity Gateway, unlimited data, access to digital skills training, and millions of Xfinity WiFi hotspots all at no additional cost. In addition, they have the option to purchase a low-cost computer for $149.95.
Internet Essentials is just one product in Comcast’s range of options we make available for customers at every price point, including our NOW prepaid offering, and simple national pricing for every tier of Xfinity Internet – all delivering the nation’s most reliable WiFi, powered by Comcast’s world-class network.
