In partnership with The Oaklandside and Heritage Bank, Comcast is launching a new series of networking and workshop events geared to give small business owners the tools they need to bring their businesses to the next level. These events are catered and marketed towards select Comcast RISE recipients and small diverse-owned businesses in Oakland to cultivate an intimate and tight-knit community of entrepreneurs.
Yesterday, on December 12th, Comcast, The Oaklandside, and Heritage Bank held their first Small Business Toolbox event at the Lede. Over 20 RISE business owners gathered, connecting around their shared roots and entrepreneurial spirit with hors d’oeuvres and wine.
The event featured a master class, presented by guest speakers from Algorithm Marketing Agency, on how to transform social media followers into customers. Attendees were able to gain new insights into the ever-growing social media landscape and walk away with new strategies to optimize their online presence and branding.
Local celebrity Stomper, the Oakland A’s mascot, made a surprise guest appearance as well, taking videos in a 360-video booth with all the attendees.
Small businesses are the backbone of our communities, and Comcast is proud to host local events like these to bring them together. To learn more about Comcast’s mission and initiatives to support diverse-owned small businesses, visit www.comcastrise.com.
