Comcast Celebrates Earth Day and Steps Toward Sustainable Connectivity

April 22 is Earth Day, a day to celebrate the Earth and show support for protecting our planet. Here at Comcast, we continue to make strides each day towards a greener, more sustainable future with initiatives throughout every facet of our company.

We are proud of the progress we have made towards our goal to be carbon neutral for Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2035:

  • Eliminated 960,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions since 2019.
  • Increased our network’s energy efficiency by decreasing the amount of electricity it takes to deliver each byte of data to our customers by 36% from 2019 to 2022.
  • Sourced more than 1.2 million megawatt-hours of clean and renewable energy, equivalent to avoiding the emissions of 100,000 homes’ electricity use for a year.
  • Piloted electric and hybrid vehicles throughout select locations and introduced the first four electric trams in the Universal Studios Hollywood fleet.
