Comcast Celebrates with Joy the Third Annual Black Joy Parade
On Sunday, February 23, the Black Joy Parade will unite thousands of people in the streets of Oakland to celebrate the black experience and the past, present, and future contributions by the black community.
Comcast is proud to participate in the parade and the festival for the third year in a row. Comcast employees representing the Black Employee Network (BEN) resource group will march along the Comcast float starting at 12:30 p.m. in Uptown Oakland. Following the parade, attendees can join the festivities at 19th and Broadway, where hundreds of local artists and food vendors will be present, and performances by local artists will take place.
This year, Xfinity is hosting the Black Vines Lounge in partnership with TV One, a cable network that offers programming that centers the African American experience, via a broad mix of original lifestyle and entertainment-oriented series, documentaries, movies, and concert performances. Parade-goers can relax, listen to live performances at the 2nd stage and enjoy a selection of specially curated wines by Black Vines, California’s prominent curator of wine by Black winemakers and vintners.
If you’re planning to attend the event, make sure to stop by the Black Vines Lounge between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to meet digital influencers, Chauncey Woods and Shan Berries. Chauncey and Shan are the co-hosts of the digital series, She’s Into It, and they will be shooting a live episode of the show at the event.
