Thousands of Comcast’s customers are still currently experiencing power outages, especially in areas of Fairfield, Fort Bragg, Marin, Monterey, North Sac Valley, Rohnert Park, San Jose, Santa Cruz and Ukiah.
Currently, PG&E’s Outage Map and Sacramento Municipal Utility District’s (SMUD) Outage Map shows several parts of Northern California communities experiencing significant power outages. Our technicians are currently waiting for power to be restored in the region to determine if repairs to our network are needed. Our network technicians can’t access these locations until PG&E and/or SMUD (dependent on the area) has deemed them safe to do so. As commercial power continues to be restored, we are assessing the damages and working diligently to resolve them.
Comcast’s network requires commercial power to operate. Our teams are aware of these outages and are working with the commercial power providers to assess lines and equipment once power has been restored.
Our Comcast Network Impact Map shows where customers without service are currently located. For our crews to make the necessary repairs to restore service, they must first have access to the area. This issue is currently a problem given that some roads, especially in remote areas, remain closed due to fallen trees and debris.
Lastly, please download the Xfinity App to get updates on outages, service interruptions and see when your service is expected to be restored.
Comcast understands this disruption to services can have a significant impact on people’s lives and businesses. Please know that Comcast’s teams never stop working for you even if the power is off. From our family to yours, we hope you remain safe during this storm.
