Stories of Service: Comcast Honors Veterans and Military Families with New Content Destination and Community-Driven Initiatives

At Comcast NBCUniversal, we’re committed to supporting and celebrating the military community—not just during Veterans and Military Families Month, but all year long. This November, we’re taking that celebration to the next level with a new military-inspired content destination on Xfinity and a series of efforts designed to honor and empower veterans, service members, and their families.

Stories of Service on Xfinity

Available on X1, Flex, and Stream, our “Stories of Service” content destination features a variety of critically acclaimed films, series, and documentaries that depict the realities of war, the camaraderie among soldiers, and the sacrifices made by military families.

Military Appreciation Month on Xfinity

To make this collection truly one-of-a-kind, we collaborated with several influential leaders in the military community who served as guest editors, including Medal of Honor recipient Clinton Romesha, whose heroism during the battle of Kamdesh in Afghanistan inspired the 2019 film The Outpost.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to share stories that capture the courage, sacrifice, and resilience that define military service. I hope this collection not only resonates with those who have served but also helps others connect with and appreciate the experiences of service members and their families,” Romesha said.

Joining Romesha as guest editors are Medal of Honor recipient and bestselling author Dakota Meyer, actor and former Navy SEAL Remi Adeleke, Paralympic Silver Medalist and Marine veteran Dennis Connors, retired Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff John Wayne Troxell, and Comcast’s Vice President of Military and Veteran Affairs, Mona Dexter.

“The first time I ever heard about Navy SEALs was in a movie, and that inspired me to learn more and eventually pursue becoming one myself,” said Adeleke. “I’m excited to collaborate with Comcast to showcase the power of storytelling and how it can inspire others to take action, whether it’s joining the military or simply gaining a deeper understanding of military service.”

Additionally, we surveyed thousands of our military-connected employees to identify movies and shows that best represent their experiences and connection to the military community. From classics like Saving Private Ryan to contemporary depictions of military life, this collection offers a powerful and authentic lookat what it means to serve.

Comcast Newsmakers

Comcast Newsmakers, National Veterans and Military Families Month

Throughout November, Comcast Newsmakers is spotlighting organizations dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for military families and Native American veterans, including the USO and Hesperus. The segments will explore how the USO’s community-building programs boost morale for active-duty service members and their families, as well as Hesperus’s focus on empowering Native American veterans through digital skills education.

Elevating Our Community Partners

Beyond storytelling, Comcast NBCUniversal has invested in meaningful initiatives supporting our military community partners. In 2024, we allocated $9.5 million in airtime for public service announcements, amplifying messages from organizations that provide life-changing services to veterans and their families. Additionally, we committed $1 million to support digital skills-building programs, entrepreneurship opportunities, and access to essential technology for military community members as part of Project UP, our $1 billion commitment to help close the digital divide.
