Comcast Springs into Service in Northern California

Over 1,000 volunteers mobilized in Fair Oaks, Orangevale, and Citrus Heights to complete 66 community service projects in one day.

On Saturday, May 17, the 7th Annual Big Day of Service convened residents in Northern California to join in unity and service to beautify the Greater Sacramento Area. From cleaning parks and planting trees to expressing gratitude to local teachers and seniors, the Big Day of Service created positive impact and community building.

Comcast employees and their families were proud to participate in this year’s community service day through Team UP, Comcast’s year-round, always-on volunteer employee program. Employees spent time at the Veterans Community Center in Citrus Heights, improving the landscaping by pulling weeds, laying rock, installing irrigation, and removing debris to support and keep veterans safe.

Making an impact in the communities we serve is at the heart of what we do. For Ana Flores, Senior Community Account Sales Specialist, participating in the Big Day of Service was a chance to appreciate the power of community and service. “Volunteering with my family and coworkers made this event even more meaningful. As a parent, I love showing my daughter what it means to serve others.” Ana notes that, “For the Greater Sacramento Area, this event is a prime example of giving back and showing kindness for our communities. When we work together, we can make a difference.”
