In late June, a group of Bay Area journalists and influencers from international media outlets gathered at Comcast’s retail store in San Francisco to celebrate the addition of 42 international channels available coast-to-coast to Xfinity video customers.
Coupled with the recent Sling International integration, the international programming experience on Xfinity X1 now offers more than 415 networks in more than 20 languages.
X1 customers can just say “International” to go directly to the International destination on Xfinity On Demand. Additionally, customers can use their voice to discover programming relevant to a specific region of the world – “Asian Entertainment,” “South Asian Entertainment,” “European Entertainment,” or “Brazilian Entertainment” are all voice commands that take the viewer directly to a curated assortment of channels, shows, movies, music and more. With more than 1.5 billion voice commands generated in the first quarter of 2018 alone, X1 customers are using the X1 voice remote more than ever to find the content they love.
“Xfinity X1 is now the go-to platform for the best international programming and viewing experience,” said Rebecca Simpson, Executive Director, International Strategy for Comcast Cable. “With the demand for multicultural content increasing, we are thrilled to complement our existing array of international programming by adding more channels all thoughtfully curated into an easy way to navigate, discover and enjoy.”
Representatives from SBTN, Asian Journal, NTV American, Oh Asian Media, among others, attended the event and had a chance to meet Russian actress and TV host Natasha Romanova and Australian actor Chris Pang who are part of the cast of the movie ‘Crazy Rich Asians.’
In addition, Eugene Piskounov was the Master of Ceremonies and the entertainment was delivered by R&B singer from the Philippines Jay R AKA the Philippines’ King of R&B who performed for the audience.
