Comcast Highlights Black Icons and Experiences Throughout Black History Month

Comcast celebrates Black History Month.

Comcast is celebrating Black History Month with local and national efforts. A pandemic cannot stop our communities from celebrating how far history has come as well as how much further we have to go. Join us as we honor Black History this month and beyond.

Black Experience on Xfinity

To kick off the month, we announced the Black Experience on Xfinity – a first-of-its-kind collection of Black films, TV shows, news, and more – curated by industry leaders, film critics, and top networks; and endorsed by the African American Film Critics Association. With the Black Experience on Xfinity, customers can:

  • Experience a one-stop collection featuring Black films, TV shows, news, music videos, documentaries, etc., that celebrate Black identity, heritage, and culture.
  • Enjoy stories that entertain, educate, and uplift; featuring Black actors, writers, producers, and directors.
  • Watch at home on Xfinity X1 and Flex; and on-the-go with the Xfinity Stream app.
  • Check out the all-new “Xfinity Originals” – exclusive content by new and up-and-coming Black content creators; available only to Xfinity customers.

Black Joy Parade Icons Among Us

We have partnered with Black Joy Parade to recognize activists who are creating lasting change locally in the Bay Area. These individuals have been doing work in their communities for years and our hope is to honor them and the work they are doing.

Icons will be awarded $5,000 to contribute to the nonprofit of their choice and a special personal gift.

Winners will be announced later this week and celebrated at a special virtual event, open to the public, in late February. Visit Black Joy Parade’s Icons Among Us page to see who the finalists are.

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and a historic time in the pursuit of racial and social justice in the United States, Comcast remains fully committed to serving our communities, charting progress, and generating impact on the vital issues that will create greater equity for all.
