Comcast is proud to celebrate National Veterans and Military Families Month in November. From a new military-inspired content destination to celebrations across our communities, we have tremendous gratitude for the brave individuals and families who have dedicated their lives to service.
Honoring the Central Valley Military Community
Comcast had the honor of sponsoring the 105th Central Valley Veterans Day Parade. Known as one of the largest Veterans Day Parades, the parade salutes veterans with a route through downtown Fresno. From marching bands and military service members to decorated floats and automobiles, over 114 entries marched in this year’s parade and thousands of community members were in attendance. Comcast has participated in the parade for several years and had a float in the parade for the first time this year. Employees from Comcast’s Veterans Network (VetNET) and Black Employee Network (BEN), along with family and friends, joined the parade contingency to show support for the military community.
For Justin Minniti, Area Vice President of Field Operations for Comcast California, participating in the parade is a beautiful representation of support and community. Minniti is a U.S. Army Veteran who started his career at Comcast over 20 years ago, utilizing the dedication and discipline gained in the military to take great pride in his work and grow within the company. At Comcast, Minniti has found camaraderie in fellow veterans and military-connected teammates, inspiring him to lead a team of 300 employees and connect with the communities where we live, work, and play.
“To date, we have hired over 21,000 veterans, military spouses, and National Guard and reserve service members. That is one of our commitments, that we are constantly seeking the opportunity to onboard our service members.”
Justin Minniti, Area Vice President of Field Operations for Comcast California
Comcast’s commitment to the military community runs deep in our culture. From our founder, U.S. Navy veteran Ralph Roberts, to our employee programs and commitment to community initiatives, our company is honored to support the courageous individuals in the military this month and all year round. From all of us at Comcast, thank you to our veterans for their service and sacrifice. We salute you.
