On Monday, January 31st, Comcast California presented the City of Vacaville with a $25,000 donation to support the construction of “Play 4 All” park in Vacaville, CA. The park, planned and designed by Vacaville’s Rotary Club, is intended to meet the unique needs of children with disabilities and neurodivergencies, which includes wheelchair-friendly playground equipment, light and sound minimizing structures for those with sensory sensitivities, along with many other features and structures.
Accepting the donation from Comcast was Vacaville Mayor Ron Rowlett, Solano County Supervisor Mitch Mashburn, City Councilmember Greg Ritchie, ‘Play 4 All’ Founder Tom Philippi, along with other community and business partners.
“Comcast has a long-standing partnership and relationship with the City of Vacaville,” said Brian Bottari, Director, Government Affairs, Comcast North Bay. “When we heard that this project was just $25,000 short of meeting its phase 1 goals, Comcast enthusiastically stepped up to help this community. Enabling children of all abilities to have access to a park like this is incredible and we are heartened to play a part in making it happen. The Vacaville Rotary should be applauded for their work on this important project.”
The Play 4 All park now enters its Phase 2 development, which will create two baseball fields, two dog parks and a miniature village replicating Vacaville’s most treasured landmarks. Construction of most aspects of the park have already begun, and some structures, such as the playground, parking lot and plaza area, are partially complete.
