Comcast crews continued to work diligently throughout the day, last night and today, making progress in restoring services for residential and commercial customers.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, a “weak, quick-moving weather system is expected tomorrow…but any storms are expected to be short-lived” throughout the Bay Area and other parts of Northern California. This break in the rainstorm will allow our crews to take advantage to better assess the damages and expedite restoration efforts in parts of the North and South Bay.
Additionally, we understand that some locations within our footprint continue to wait for the restoration of commercial power. Comcast services require commercial power to operate. In areas where there are currently power outages or downed poles, our technicians must allow PG&E and SMUD crews to assess and repair any damages that may have occurred before being able to restore our services. Once power is reinstated, our crews will be better able to assess the need for network repairs.
Our Comcast Network Impact Map shows where customers without service are currently located. In order for our crews to make the necessary repairs to restore service, they must first have access to the area. This issue is currently a problem given that some roads, especially in remote areas, remain closed due to fallen trees and debris.
Our Comcast California team wants to assure you that we are committed to restoring your service as quickly and safely as possible. Our teams remain aware, monitoring the incoming storm and working tirelessly to restore services swiftly and safely.
