Comcast is excited to announce that its newest Xfinity store will serve the community of East San Jose. Located near Eastridge Mall on Evergreen Place in San Jose, the store features all of the latest, innovative Xfinity products and services including NOW TV and StreamSaver.
At a recent grand opening event, the company emphasized the importance of creating awesome customer experiences and how this new store will empower its employees to do even more of that.
While serving customers and employees is always the company’s top priority, being of service to communities is also extremely important.
With that in mind, and as part of the grand opening celebration, Comcast made donations of $10,000 each to two community partners doing incredible work in San Jose. Contributions were given to the School of Arts and Culture at the Mexican Heritage Plaza and Local Color.
The School of Arts and Culture is a vibrant, cultural institution in East San Jose. It was founded in 2011 with a mission to foster creativity and empower the community through cultural events, as well as art and dance classes at its six-acre facility. Annually, the school hosts over 100,000 people. Since 2021, the school has been a Lift Zone partner with Comcast. Lift Zones are locations where Comcast partners with community organizations to provide free, high speed Wi- Fi to their participants or members.
The next $10,000 contribution went to an organization called Local Color, a woman-powered non-profit dedicated to building equitable pathways for creatives to thrive. This includes developing the entrepreneurial skills of local artists from diverse communities such as East San Jose. Local Color has been instrumental in contributing to the cultural vibrancy of the Eastridge-area and East San Jose as a whole through public art, creative services, fiscal sponsorships and youth workshops.
Comcast is proud to contribute $20,000 in total to these community partners focused on creating even more cultural vibrancy in East San Jose.
Leah Toeniskoetter, President & CEO of the San Jose Chamber of Commerce also attended and spoke at the event. She congratulated Comcast on the new store opening and extended her gratitude to the company for its continued support and partnership. Additionally, she emphasized the importance of supporting the East San Jose economy and community.
“This store will foster the growth and prosperity of the local economy, while bringing new jobs to the East Side,” she said.
