May marks a time to celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This month recognizes and honors the courage, brilliance, and lasting impact of AANHPI communities. Comcast is grateful for the extraordinary contributions by our AANHPI employees, customers, and community partners. Together, we continue to build a future of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect that extends well beyond this important month.
Asian Pacific American Cultural Fair
On May 18th, the Comcast California team will host an Asian Pacific American Cultural Fair at the Asian Pacific American Community Center (APACC). Located in Visitacion Valley, San Francisco, the Asian Pacific American Community Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving underprivileged Asian communities. APACC’s mission is to help strengthen local Asian Pacific American families by providing linguistically and culturally appropriate programs and services.
Our team will curate an immersive, cultural experience that promotes APA history, identity, and empowerment. Our Asian Pacific American Employee Resource Group, along with local leaders and elected officials, will connect with local families and celebrate the month with live performances, food, and activities.
Comcast is proud to partner with the Asian Pacific American Community Center on this community event and year-round through our Lift Zones program. APACC is a local Lift Zone that provides students and families Internet access on-the-go and digital equity programming, so they can fully participate in the digital economy. Lift Zones are made possible through Project UP, our 10-year, $1 billion initiative to advance digital equity and help build a future of unlimited possibilities.
Connection through Creation
Comcast’s Connection through Creation program highlights content creators who are using art and the Internet to create community, honor culture, and spark positive change. Bay Area artist Paulina Hoong is one of the latest artists to be featured in honor of AANHPI Heritage Month. Paulina, also known as Menmin Made on Instagram and TikTok, specializes in watercolor art and finds inspiration from her family’s Chinese restaurant. We are thrilled to feature Paulina across Comcast’s social media this month. Watch the video below to learn more about her artwork.
